Soddy Daisy Trojans Vs. Signal Mountain Eagles Football Game
Luckily, on Friday, August 27th, our Soddy Daisy football team played the Signal Mountain Eagles at Signal Mountain. They were one of the few teams in Hamilton County that did not have to cancel their game due to surging COVID-19 cases.
In the last few minutes of the fourth quarter, our Trojans scored a touchdown and a two-point conversion both by complete passes to wide receiver Eli Coffelt by quarterback Slater Hickman. The second touchdown was also Slater Hickman who threw to Gavin Lane in a 4 yard pass, according to Coach Raborn. This put Soddy Daisy in the lead, but, sadly we lost 21 to 14 after Signal Mountain scored a touchdown.
Coach Barnes was very excited to tell about the Men of Troy and how they played “Our guys played really hard and competed the entire game. They were just able to make one more play than us down the stretch, and be able to take the lead on us there at the end and get a two-point conversion… The good part about things is we have a region game this week and that’s what really matters down the stretch and… our region games are what determines our play off ability.”
We are very excited to see our Trojans play again at home on September 3rd at 7:30 pm against the Central High School Pounders.
