After a month-long battle with cancer, Dustin Diamond died Monday at his home in Cape Coral. Diamond was best known for playing the irritating Samuel “Screech” Powers in the ‘80s sitcom, “Saved by the Bell”. The show ran from the late ‘80s through 2000. He reappeared as the character in the “Saved by the Bell” spin-offs, “The College Years” and “The New Class”.
Diamond also appeared in “Celebrity Fit Club,” “Celebrity Big Brother,” and “Celebrity Boxing 2,” and was a stand-up comedian, touring across the country performing at Laugh-In Comedy Cafe in Fort Myers and Off The Hook Comedy Club on Marco Island.
