Netflix Releases Information for TV Adaptation of Grishaverse Books

Leigh Bardugo’s book trilogy, “Shadow and Bone” and duology, “Six of Crows” are  getting a TV adaptation. Both series have confirmed casts and an official release date of has been announced for “Shadow and Bone”

The story of “Shadow and Bone” follows Alina Starkov, a young soldier who discovers her dormant powers that could unite her divided nation, Ravka. She is swept into a world of luxury and illusion while alliances and magic itself are tested as the threat to Ravka grows. 

A revengefulled convict, a gambling sharpshooter, a once privileged runaway, the spy Wraith, a magical Heartrender, and a gifted thief, “Six of Crows” follows six criminals who live in the country Kerch. Outcasted from society, Kaz Brekker and his crew attempt to pull off the heist of a lifetime. 

The full cast announcement for “Shadow and Bone” has been announced by Netflix, while the “Six of Crows” cast is not yet complete, missing key character Wylan Van Eck. Despite the two books taking place at different times, Bardugo and the showrunner Eric Heisserer have worked to make a “Six of Crows” prequel to connect the two storylines of the books. 

“Shadow and Bone” is set to release season 1 on April 23rd 2021. The first season will consist of eight episodes.
